Flare Films is run by photographer and filmmaker Judith Burrows. In 1992, following graduation with a first class degree in Photography, Film and Video, her first film Georgia, a highly acclaimed short drama, was invited to the London Film Festival and subsequently screened at festivals around the world. It was then distributed in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Turkey.

Her second short drama Saving Grace was nominated for a BIFA award, and screened at Edinburgh and Welsh film festivals amongst others and was transmitted in Ireland and on BBC2.

Numerous commissions followed. A series of Film Portraits of Artists for the The National Portrait Gallery, Behind the scenes at Party in The Park a documentary for Capital Radio, followed by a 50min documentary The Spirit of Capital screened at the Odeon West End and attended by Lord Attenborough. Channel 5 commissioned short documentaries as did the dti, and Channel 4.

Most recent films Pulse and Carwash received grants from Film London and the Film Council and both have been widely screened at festivals and transmitted at home and abroad.
